Alpha Brain Review: This Popular Nootropic Struggles to Best Newer Supplements

First Impressions of Alpha Brain

Alpha Brain is the rock star of nootropic supplements. With a celebrity spokesperson who supposedly created this supplement, this product has been mentioned often in the press as an example of what a nootropic should do. Part of the purpose of our review site is to separate fact from fiction and to show you which brain pills (whether well-known or unknown) are the best out there in the market. Based on this agenda, we have not allowed Alpha Brain’s popularity influence our critique of the product.

Alpha Brain’s Limitations

Despite all the hype that has been going on with this product, it’s important to take a look at its limitations as well. Alpha Brain has spent a lot of money on its marketing budget, which is why we see it all over the web. The manufacturers have proudly placed a huge number board that keeps track of how many capsules of Alpha Brain have been sold, to date, 995,053 bottles have been purchased. Aside from this impressive number, we’ve noticed that Alpha Brain has changed its formula. During its reformulation, the people responsible failed to include any of the two most revered types of nootropic substances available today (including any of the members from the racetam family and Noopept).

Alpha Brain has gotten too big to try to include these powerful substances, which means that you will have to look elsewhere to get any real potency, according to the title of this review, Alpha Brain is being bypassed by newer and better nootropic substances that contain racetam ingredients or Noopept. Instead of accepting this as fact, Onnit, the makers of Alpha Brain, refused to change. At the end of the day, this may cause Onnit to be overtaken by their competitors.

Manufacturer of Alpha Brain

Alpha Brain is manufactured by Onnit – a  company so reliable that its customers just can’t get enough. An advantage is that this product looks good and the supplement’s website is one of the best around. Considering the large amount of celebrity endorsements, we can assume that it is safe to consume. The company has also dedicated a lot of expenditure to conduct a clinical trial with their formula. The results show us that the exact combination of ingredients have been proven effective, Alpha Brain is made in a GMP certified lab in the U.S., and the formulation is created under strict manufacturing guidelines. Onnit has made sure that their product is a consumer-friendly nootropic supplement, and we cannot argue that they have not accomplished this.

Pro’s and Con’s

Pro’s

– Increased concentration in 3-4 out of 5 people who took it

– The best known nootropic on the market

– Good support

– Manufactured by a reliable company

Con’s

– Lacks Noopept or any member of the racetam family

– Is not a perfect nootropic or Adderall replacement

Summary of Alpha Brain

Our summary of this product will be tied into our vast knowledge of other nootropic supplements. If Alpha Brain were at the pinnacle of nootropic innovation, then we would have to accept this, However, since there are more potent options available, we would not be surprised if Alpha Brain’s popularity does not last. Is this product safe to take? Yes. Did a professional company make it? Yes, as far as we can tell. Has the formula been tested? Yes.

A bottle contains 30 capsules and costs $34.95. Since the recommended dose is 2 capsules a day, you would need two bottles to last you an entire month, which would cost you $69.90. Alpha Brain’s use of high-quality ingredients definitely merits such prices, so we can’t complain about costs. However, the Noopept and race tam family are much stronger and more effective nootropics.

I read about Alpha Brain in an article about people on Wall Street using it. While I hate Wall ST, I love the idea of getting more done with my days and started taking it about a week ago. I don’t know if it’s directly related, by my skin seems clearer. I am also waking up less foggy in the morning, which is huge for me as I hate mornings. They say it takes a little while to feel the full impact, but I am already sold. Love Joe Rogan too 🙂

    Alpha Brain

    Worked for me!

I was hesitant to try Alpha Brain, but it got some good reviews and the company looked reliable so I bought a bottle. I felt pretty motivated while taking it. It got my out of the funk I was in the past few months. I just felt like doing nothing, so I sort of stopped doing too much. Haha… the problem was that I had problems with work, with school, and with my gf. Basically, life sucked.

I am not saying that Alpha Brain caused some miracle, but I know that it got me out of the funk I was in. I woudn’t want to take this for too long – I think it is just designed for short term use. It’s good if you need something to change your outlook on life.

    So – so

I tried alpha brain and thought it was just so-so. I did feel some extra energy boost in my brain but also felt a little messed up and distracted like. I didn’t expect that to happen, and even my gf noticed I was different. Anyway, it’s cool to try if you aren’t perhaps overly sensitive like I am, but for the price I think the positives weren’t enough. I am trying one of the other supplements next.

    Beta Brain

A lot of my friends in university are taking Alpha Brain. It has a good-looking website and a strong support network. I got a few of these off of a friend before trying it myself by buying a bottle through the website. I was expecting an exciting experience, but I also did not want to experience the “placebo” effect that I see some people have. It is actually pretty funny when friends take something and they think they are tripping out, but really it was just a sugar pill or something. Anyway, I mixed up Alpha Brain with some caffeine pills I had, and wanted to see if I could feel the effects of Alpha Brain if I did not know I took it or a caffeine pill. After I took the Alpha Brain, I did not feel the instant energy and focus I get from a caffeine pill. I did feel more focused 3-4 hours after taking it, but it did not really improve my work performance. This is why I named this supplement Beta Brain. It gets a B in my grade book.

    No effect

I felt no effect from taking this. I feel basically the same as before I started taking Alpha Brain. I am looking for a better option.
